The NCUA will host a free 90-minute credit union merger webinarthat will focus on how mergers can be a growth strategy for smallcredit unions.

Vanessa Lowe, an economic development specialist with the NCUA'sOffice of Small Credit Union Initiatives, will host the webinar,titled, “Mergers as a Growth Strategy.”

She will be joined by a panel of speakers including Paul Nyman,a board member of the $64.3 million Horizon Federal Credit Union inWilliamsport, Pa.; John McKenzie, president of the Indiana CreditUnion League; Bob Jones, economic development specialist with theNCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives; and RichardSchulman, an attorney with Esp Kreuzer Cores, LLP.

The webinar will discuss why merging worked well for one smallcredit union's growth strategy, the network credit union concept,small credit union negotiating power in a merger, Call Report dataon mergers and other insights.
