Jennifer L. Hicks, a credit union teller and marketing directormissing since Feb. 9 and wanted by police on an alleged theftcharge, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, a Kentuckytelevision station reported Friday.

WPSD of Paducah sourced its information from Calloway CountyCoroner Rick Harris who conducted an autopsy Friday morning.

“At this time in the investigation, we don't feel there is anyfoul play, however, the investigation is ongoing,” Kentucky StateTrooper Michael Robichaud told CU Times.

Police said Hicks' body was found in her car, which was parked inside aself-storage facility in Murray.

“Lake Chem would like to extend their deepest sympathies to thefamily and friends of Jennifer Hicks! She was loved by all and willbe greatly missed!” the $52 million federal credit union based inBenton said in a statement posted on its Facebook site.

Hicks, 31, left the credit union's branch in Murray at about noon on Feb. 9 tocheck on her eight-year-old daughter, according to the CallowayCounty Sheriff.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., her vehicle was seen on KentuckyRoute 94 heading east bound.

That was the last time Hicks and her vehicle were seen, policesaid.

On Feb. 15, Lake Chem issued a bulletin statement on its websiteand Facebook page stating it discovered irregularities in some ofits records, which may affect the accuracy of year-end reports forsome members. The credit union did not say how many of its10,215 members were affected.

On Feb. 16, Kentucky State Police issued a warrant to arrestHicks for alleged “theftby failure to make required disposition of property (of)over $10,000, a Class C felony.”
