During the first week of 2016, credit unions in every region of the nation announced new hires as well as promotions.

EAST

The $163 million First Capital Federal Credit Union in York, Pa. hired David Morse (pictured) as vice president of operations.  He most recently served as the director of retail sales at the $315 million Common Wealth One Federal Credit Union in Alexandria, Va.

The $1.7 billion Pawtucket Credit Union in Pawtucket, R.I. announced four promotions. Nancy St. Angelo was promoted to assistant vice president of dealer relations in the indirect auto lending division. She joined the credit union five years ago as a dealer relationship manager. Laura Frazer was promoted to assistant vice president of operations and previously served as an operations manager. Mark McLaughlin was promoted to assistant vice president of mortgage origination. He joined Pawtucket in 1996 and most recently served as a mortgage originator. Jill Tremblay was promoted to assistant vice president and commercial lending credit manager. She previously served as a commercial lending credit manager for the credit union over the last five years.

MIDWEST

Robin Grimes (pictured) was named association vice president of real estate lending at the $801 million SPIRE Credit Union in Falcon Heights, Minn. Previously, Grimes worked for more than 20 years at the $607 million Ideal Credit Union in Woodbury, Minn., and served as its vice president of mortgage and commercial services.

The $1 billion FORUM Credit Union in Fishers, Ind., announced two new hires and two employee promotions. Amanda Callahan joined the credit union as a business development manager. She previously worked at AFLAC as an asset management employee. Jason Smith was also hired as a business development manager and previously worked at MainSource Bank. Ashley Barth was promoted to branch manager. She joined FORUM in 2011 and previously served as an assistant branch manager. Marlene Bush was also promoted to branch manager. She joined the credit union more than 10 years ago and previously served as an assistant branch manager.

Dr. Phyllis King was appointed to the board of directors of the $2 billion UW Credit Union in Madison, Wis. King, a vice provost for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, also serves as one of the liaisons to the University of Wisconsin system, city of Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin for initiatives related to educational reform, science, technology, engineering and math education, health and water, as well as food and beverage industry entrepreneurship and innovations.

The $2.7 billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowa promoted Joe Lichty to the position of manager of consumer lending. He joined Veridian 12 years ago and most recently served as a manager of account resolution.   

SOUTH

The $9 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union in San Antonio, Texas, promoted Kristin Popowich to assistant vice president of member service. She most recently served as an area manager after serving as branch manager at multiple San Antonio area Security Service locations.

Lucilla Henderson (pictured), vice president of community and business engagement for the $2.7 billion TDECU in Lake Jackson, Texas, was appointed to the Texas Credit Union Executives Society Council Board. As a Texas CUES Council Member, Henderson will represent TDECU and its members while working to strengthen the nationwide credit union movement.

The $499 million Five Point Credit Union in Nederland, Texas, hired Chad Nequent as an internal financial and operations auditor. He previously worked as a principal examiner for the NCUA for seven years.

WEST

Mike Paul (pictured) joined the $1.1 billion Harborstone Credit Union in Lakewood, Wash. as a senior vice president and regional manager. He previously served as president/CEO of the Plaza Bank in Seattle, Wash., for three years.

Eileen Arnold was promoted to vice president of accounting at the $301 million Partner Colorado Credit Union in Arvada, Colo. She holds more than 20 years of accounting and finance experience, In addition, Partner Colorado also said Dana Zamora was promoted to vice president of human resources. She holds more than 10 years of human resources and training experience,

Robert Chavez (pictured), president/CEO of the $2.1 billion Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, N.M. was appointed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, which provides input to the bank and its senior management on the economy, lending conditions and other issues.

The $962 million Oregon State Credit Union in Corvallis, Ore., named Chad Ulrich to a branch manager position. He joined the credit union in 2009 and previously served in management roles with Bank of America and Oregon Coast Bank.

TRADES

The National Credit Union Foundation hired Hannibal Brumskine II as its new chief financial and operations officer. Before joining NCUF, he served as the controller/director of Global Treasury at Pact in Washington. He also served in executive positions various nonprofits in the philanthropic space, including Greater Washington Area Public Television and Goodwill of Greater Washington Special Olympics Inc.
