MECU of Baltimore leaders donned their chef hats for a good cause.

Board Chairman Herman Williams Jr. and Interim CEO John Hamilton, served up their scrumptious dishes as part of the Gourmet Men of Distinction fundraiser, sponsored by the Baltimore Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. 

Chapter member Pat Roberts, senior vice president, member services/branch operations at the $1.2 billion Baltimore-based credit union invited the leaders to showcase their culinary talents. Williams and Hamiliton were among many local business and community leaders challenged to present signature dishes for the community to sample at Martin's West.

Proceeds from the event went toward advocacy programs for young women in the community including girls in gang violence, HIV/AIDS Awareness and professional mentoring. 

The NCBW mission has been to develop leaders who will help to rebuild their communities and redirect the energies of younger Black people who live in those communities.

The local Baltimore chapter of the non-profit organization has built networks and partnerships designed to not only empower African American women but also address socio-economic and political issues, as well as career advancement and leadership opportunities.
