Audrey Stone was promoted to sales and marketing specialist for the $439 million Sunmark Federal Credit Union. Stone, who joined the Latham, N.Y.-based credit union four years ago, also volunteers for the Sunmark Council, which directs staff-driven community engagement efforts.

Julie Roll, a network administrator for the $573 million LAFCU in Lansing, Mich., was selected as the 2015 Woman of the Year by the Seven Islands Chapter of the American Business Women Association. The award recognizes a member who embodies the mission of ABWA and made notable contributions to its success. Roll has been active in ABWA since she joined it in 2010 by leading programs and working on nearly every committee. She currently serves as chapter secretary on the executive board.

The $2 billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowa, announced that Joe Lichty was promoted to manager of account resolution. He joined the credit union 11 years ago and most recently served as a branch manager. Veridian also announced that Alan Stalnaker was promoted to branch manager. He joined the credit union nearly nine years ago.

SOUTH

Ron Smith, president/CEO of the $60 million Electric Credit Union in Nashville, Tenn., was appointed to fill an unexpired term of the $1 billion Volunteer Corporate Credit Union, also in Nashville. Smith brings to the VolCorp board 25 years of financial services industry experience in consumer, real estate, wholesale and indirect lending, as well as legal, loan processing, skip tracing and repossessions.

WEST

The $4.1 billion Patelco Credit Union in Pleasanton, Calif., hired of Nathaniel (Nate) Burns to serve as its credit union affairs executive director. He holds extensive experience in the financial services industry including former roles as vice president of de novo branches at JP Morgan Chase and vice president of corporate marketing, sales and service for California Bank and Trust. The credit union also hired Luis Jara to serve as the financial literacy specialist on its first- community outreach team. Jara joined Patelco with more than a decade of financial services expertise and worked as a mortgage banker, retail branch bank manager, community lending supervisor and as a Series 7 and 66 licensed banker.

Jack Kerr joined the $4 billion Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colo., as a corporate lending officer. Kerr's 35-year career in the financial services industry includes extensive commercial lending and regulatory experience as a senior liquidator for the FDIC.

TRADES

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates said Florida State Sen. Dorothy Hukill (R-Port Orange) was honored with CUNA's Desjardins Financial Education Award for state policymakers. She was recognized for introducing a bill that would require high school seniors to earn a half credit of financial literacy before graduation. She also introduced a bill that would require financial literacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Meagan Peasley, a senior member service representative at the $175 million Central Macomb Community Credit Union in Clinton Township, Mich., received the Young Professional of the Year Award from the Michigan Credit Union League & Affiliates. The award honors professionals under the age of 40 who show dedication for the credit union movement.
