Professional football legends Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and Joe Theismann are involved in a national advertising campaign that was launched Friday to promote a credit card offer from the $17.7 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Union.

Through The PenFed Promise Card Challenge, participants who enter their names, email addresses and phone numbers online will get a chance to meet the gridiron legends and win other football-themed prizes such as signed jerseys and footballs. Those who enter are not required to apply for PenFed's Promise Visa credit card.

As part of the card challenge, the Alexandria, Va.-based PenFed said it made donations to Homes for Our Troops and the Marines Toys for Tots programs. Homes for Our Troops builds customized, accessible mortgage-free homes for severely injured veterans. The Toys for Tots program is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy gifts for Christmas.
