The $118 million Capitol Credit Union appointed Pierre Cardenas as its new president/CEO, the Austin, Texas-based cooperative said in a prepared statement Wednesday.
"Pierre's knowledge of credit unions and extensive experience in the financial services industry makes him the perfect fit," Michael Jones, Capitol CU board chair, said. "Pierre's background in retail and service will give Capitol Credit Union great leadership that focuses on providing members with the service they have come to expect from our credit union."
Over the last four years, Cardenas worked as a consultant with CU Lending Advice. Prior to that, Cardenas served as the senior vice president of retail at the $710 million Amplify Credit Union , also in Austin, where he implemented many new initiatives such as centralized lending, an indirect lending program and a new loan origination system.
