The $53 million Safeway Federal Credit Union and the $33 million Spokane City Credit Union, both located in Spokane, Wash., have elected to continue processing on the D+H UltraData Enterprise Core platform. Both credit unions were members of CUsource, a 21-member CUSO that provided data processing on the UltraData Enterprise Core system to its members.
In October of 2013, CUsource was acquired by Member Driven Technologies, a Michigan-based CUSO that provides core data processing on Symitar's Episys platform. At that time, each CUsource member credit union was given the option to convert to Episys as provided by MDT or seek a new data processing platform on its own. Of the 21 credit unions, 14 chose to stay with MDT and convert to Episys.
By choosing to stay with the UltraData Enterprise platform in an outsourced environment, Safeway FCU and Spokane City CU are able to avoid the expense and resource commitment of a data processing conversion. The two credit unions will also have access to a wide array of other D+H products, including Cavion Internet Banking, Cavion Mobile Banking, Cavion Voice Banking, Cavion Bill Pay, item processing services and ActiveView® Content Management, the company said.
“The ability for us to run the UltraData Enterprise Core in an outsourced environment enables our small IT staff to be more nimble with our data processing needs,” Steve Olson, Safeway FCU manager said. “Our members want access to our products and services when and where it's convenient for them – D+H's solutions will allow us to better meet those needs while offering a wider variety of self-service solutions.
“D+H has a great track record of innovation, and the UltraData Enterprise Core is an industry-leading solution,” Dennis Clinton, president of Spokane City CU added. “The Cavion Internet Banking and Cavion Mobile Banking solutions help advance our goals of providing a better, more seamless experience for our members, whether at the branch, over the Internet or via mobile banking.”
