Ruth Jenkins, president/CEO of the $463 million Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, Ind., was named to the Indiana Credit Union League Hall of Fame. For her many contributions to the credit union movement throughout her 33-year career, Jenkins was honored during the league's annual convention in October

Chris Wardrip, president/CEO of the $27 million Financial Health Federal Credit Union in Indianapolis, was named the 2014 Cooperative Hero of the Year by the Indiana Cooperative Development Center. Under Wardrip's leadership, the credit union served lower-income individuals and developed products and services to meet their specific needs.

SOUTH

Joseph A. Melbourne Jr., president/CEO of the $1.4 billion CFE Federal Credit Union, was recognized as the CEO of the Year Honoree by the Orlando Business Journal for his corporate leadership and contributions to central Florida. Melbourne directed strategies that led to the Lake Mary, Fla.-based cooperative's growth and contributed to the benefit of various educational and community organizations throughout the central region of the Sunshine State.

Jill Lackey was hired as vice president of the Allegacy Consulting Group, a division of the $1 billion Allegacy Federal Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C. She will provide coaching, human resource consulting and organizational development services to Allegacy's business partners.

The $1.7 billion Truliant Federal Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C., appointed Catherine Sweeney as its manager of the cooperative's Mint Hill branch. Before joining Truliant, Sweeney worked for Fifth Third Bank and PNC.

WEST

New Beginnings International Children's and Family Services recognized Mendell L. Thompson, president/CEO of the $280 million America's Christian Credit Union, in Glendora, Calif., with the 2014 Adoption Service Award for going above and beyond his commitment to the cause of adoption. Under Thompson's leadership, he initiated an adoption loan program that helped more than 1,100 families.

The $4 billion ENT Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colo., said it promoted Ron Kimball to vice president of information security. He holds more than 24 years of experience in information technology with 14 years in the field of information security. Kimball joined ENT in 2008.

Christina Cook was appointed SVP of accounting and finance at the $2.4 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif. Before joining Redwood, Cook served as CFO for First California Mortgage Com and holds more than 24 years of experience in financial services leadership.

The $8.1 billion Security Service Federal Credit Union in San Antonio said Yvonne Carrion was named a branch manager. She joined the cooperative in 2006 as a part-time teller.

Jon Hernandez was elected board chair of the California Credit Union League during its annual meeting. He is president/CEO of $63 million CalCom Federal Credit Union in Torrance, Calif., and the $21 million Mattel Federal Credit Union in El Segundo, Calif. Hernandez is also the interim president/CEO of $68 million Nikkei Credit Union in Gardena, Calif. Elected vice chair was Chuck Papenfus, president/CEO of $10 million Inland Valley Federal Credit Union in Fontana, Calif. Hank Barrett, president/CEO of $521 million Valley First Credit Union in Modesto, Calif., and immediate past Chair Teresa Freeborn, president/CEO of $974 million Xceed Financial Federal Credit Union in El Segundo, who will serve as an ex officio member of the committee.
