The NCUA will host a series of webinars through December for credit unions focused on building loan portfolios, product pricing and improving internal controls.

“Product Pricing: Getting it Right,” scheduled for Oct. 15, will cover “how loan size matters to profitability, how to set rates based on internal metrics and how some decisions made in the name of the member may be unprofitable,” the NCUA said.

The Nov. 19 webinar, “Building a Loan Portfolio: Four Keys to Lending,” will touch upon topics including loan products, pricing, underwriting and collections.

The Dec. 17 webinar, “Internal Controls,” will focus on the best ways for credit unions to build efficient internal controls with a small staff. The event will also cover how to diminish dishonesty among employees and avoid “common internal controls mistakes.”

The free webinars will be hosted by employees from the NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives at 2 p.m. Eastern. Registration for each webinar is open and available online.

Participants are able to send in questions before the webinars to [email protected] with the title of the webinar in the subject line.
