EAST

The $2.6 billion Northwest Federal Credit Union in Herndon, Va., hired Jeff Bentley as SVP of lending. Bentley has more than 25 years of financial services experience. He succeeds Colleen Daly, who retired in March. She began her career with Northwest Federal in 1984 as a teller. Daly also led the formation of CU Realty, a CUSO that represents credit unions across the region.

The $2.4 billion Service Credit Union in Portsmouth, N.H., promoted Cherilyn Puffen to manager of its new Franklin Branch and David Long to manager of its Nashua Branch. Long has been with Service Credit Union for more than five years and had managed the Newington in-store branch since 2011. Puffen was hired in 2007 and had been financial services supervisor since 2012 at the Derry in-store branch.Ronald Hance, president/CEO of the $362 Heritage Family Credit Union in Rutland, Vt., was honored at the statehouse in Montpelier, Vt., for his more than 38 years of service to the credit union movement. Rep. Larry Cupoli (R-Rutland) and other House members and senators supported the passage of a resolution honoring Hance.

SOUTH

The $2 billion Chartway Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach, Va., said its We Promise Foundation named its 2014-2015 board of directors. They are John W. Blum, chairman; Beth K. O'Toole, vice chairman; Cindy Casteen, secretary/treasurer; and directors Al Merritt, Heidi Worker, Mark Widdison and Wayne Foshay. Chartway and its foundation have raised nearly $6 million since 1999 to make once-in-a-lifetime dreams come true for children battling life-threatening, debilitating or chronic illnesses.

MIDWEST

The $60 million Community Financial Credit Union in Springfield, Mo., named Loretta Roney as its new president/CEO. She succeeds Cathy Stroud, who is retiring after 32 years at the helm of Community Financial and 42 years in the movement. Stroud also served as board chairman for the Missouri Credit Union Association from 1991 to 1993 and served as a member of the Missouri Credit Union Commission since 1998. Roney has more than 13 years of experience, most recently as president/CEO of the $19 million Highway Alliance Credit Union in Jefferson City, Mo.

The $1.4 billion Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis., re-elected Nancy Beltz and Tom Huffcutt to three-year terms on its board of directors at its 50th annual meeting on April 29. At the reorganization meeting, Doug Olson was elected chairman; Bill Blackburn was elected vice chairman, John Sackett was elected treasurer and Jennifer McDonough was elected secretary.

The $3.7 billion DFCU Financial Credit Union in Dearborn, Mich., hired Lesli Matukaitis as SVP of corporate banking. Matukaitis had been with Comerica Bank for 16 years.

The $970 million US Federal Credit Union in Burnsville, Minn., hired Xiong Lee as business development specialist. She has more than 10 years of experience in the credit union industry.

The $1.7 billion United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, Mich., promoted Brittany Grasley to the newly created position of market vice president of remote member experience. She had been manager of UFCU's St. Joseph branch. Jennifer Roth was promoted to finance manager from financial analyst. UFCU also named Sarah Drummond as manager of its Rogers Avenue branch in Fort Smith, Ark. She had been a branch manager and commercial services officer at First National Bank in Fort Smith.

WEST

The $2.4 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif., hired Suzanne Knowlton as marketing manager. Knowlton has more than 15 years of experience in marketing management at companies such as Lowepro, Blurb Inc. and O'Reilly Media.

The $982 million Columbia Credit Union in Vancouver, Wash., promoted Darcie Williams to assistant vice president/branch manager at its Washougal branch, where she became assistant branch manager in 2013. She replaces Ed Hakanovic, who now manages Columbia CU's EastRidge Branch in Vancouver.

The $89 million NW Preferred Federal Credit Union in Tigard, Ore., named Tracy Jones as vice president of operations and manager of its Tigard branch. Jones has been with NW Preferred since 1987, most recently as Stayton Branch manager.
