The $732 million Educational Systems Federal Credit Union inGreenbelt, Md., said its longtime treasurer, Maurice Erly, 75,passed away on March 10.

Erly had been a member of the credit union for a half-centuryand joined its board in 1970, the credit union said in a statement.He was a former chairman who served as treasurer for the past 15years.

“Having had the pleasure of serving with Maurice for over 40years, he always brought great enthusiasm and vision to anydiscussion about how to better serve our members and develop ouremployees,” Rosemary Brinkley, chairman of the 88,000-memberEducational Systems FCU, said in the statement. “We are trulysaddened by the loss of a member of our credit union family.”

Erly was retired from the Prince George's County Board ofEducation, where he spent more than 25 years as coordinatingsupervisor of staff development, the credit union said.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia, three sons andsix grandchildren.
