The $4.2 billion Police and Fire Federal Credit Union inPhiladelphia plans to convert to the Symitar Episys core processing platform from Jack Henry & Associates, thecompany and credit union said.

The 217,500-member PFFCU said it will run the system in-houseand made its decision based on strategic growth needs andconnectivity with JHA and third-party solutions.

"With a growing membership and more than $4 billion in assets,we are the largest credit union by far on our current coresystem. We had reached a point in our technology life cyclethat we needed a core system that could seamlessly support ourcurrent requirements and ongoing growth,” President/CEO John LaRosasaid in the announcement on Thursday.
