Another credit union mobile app earned honors from the Bank Insurance & Securities Association.

The Mobile Scanning App, a new software technology from CUSO Financial Services and its sister company, Sorrento Pacific Financial LLC, received the BISA Technology Innovation award.

The app is designed for advisers working in investment programs within banks and credit unions.

Nine apps were chosen for the technology innovation award this year, given in recognition of commitment to advancements in technology-based solutions for the industry. CFS joins CUNA Brokerage Services as another credit union organization on that list; CUNA Brokerage's MEMBER ZONE app was also honored this year with the award.

CFS' app enables advisers to remotely and securely capture client investment documentation such as new account forms, transfer forms, check copies and others and uploads the information to a CFS/SPF web-based account management system, the CUSO said.

Kevin Mummau, executive vice president of program developments at CUSO Financial Services, was also inducted into the BISA Circle of Excellence.

Candidates for the award must be program executives with a minimum of 20 years of experience who have impacted the financial services industry in a positive manner, according to CFS.

With more than 30 years of experience in the brokerage industry, Mummau oversees relationship management teams, managed investment programs, and program development initiatives at CFS and its sister company, Sorrento Pacific Financial LLC.

Mummau developed an extensive program analysis system that improved results for the companies' financial institution clients many times over, according to CFS. His background covers many facets of the securities industry including trading, supervision, operations, compliance, retail, and branch management, the CUSO said.

Based in San Diego, CFS provides investment and insurance services to more than 150 credit unions nationwide.
