The $17 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Unionin Washington said it named Jane Whitfieldpresident/CEO of the PenFed Foundation. Whitfield will replaceChristopher Flynn, who will return to his role as senior executivevice president of PenFed until his upcoming retirement. Whitfieldhas more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, including in seniorpositions with the UC Berkeley School of Law, Graduate TheologicalUnion and Bay Area Legal Aid. She founded Whitfield Consulting in2008. Her father and brother both served in the military and herson, Marine Sgt. Matthew Abbate, was posthumously awarded the NavyCross for valor shown in an ambush in Afghanistan’s Helmandprovince in 2010.

The $237 million NH Federal Credit Union inConcord, N.H., appointed Stephanie Milender to itsboard of directors. She is the administrator for the NewHampshire’s Adjutant General’s Department. HollyPratt was recently appointed to the supervisory committee.She is assistant controller for St. Paul’s School in Concord.Catherine Van Norstrand joined NHFCU asassistant to the president. She has extensive experience inadministrative management and senior executive support in thelegal, financial services and aerospace industries.

The $623 million Listerhill Credit Union inMuscle Shoals, Ala., said Andy Clark wasauthorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards touse the CFP certification mark. Clark has been in Listerhill’sfinancial services department since 2001.

The $235 million Piedmont Advantage CreditUnion in Winston-Salem, N.C., named LinSpears as the new branch and community development managerfor southeast North Carolina and the Kenansville area. Spears hasextensive background in banking in North Carolina and Florida andwas a top-producing mortgage lender who has also worked as a branchmanager and sales manager for two of the largest financialinstitutions in the Southeast.

The $2.2 billion Coastal Federal Credit Unionin Raleigh, N.C., named T.J. Wyman as senior vicepresident of CUSOs and president of Coastal Federal FinancialGroup. Coastal and CFFG are majority owner of three CUSOs andminority owner of seven others. Wyman joined Coastal in 2002 andhas since held vice president roles in insurance services, retailstrategy and information technology.

The $1.2 billion Centra Credit Union inColumbus, Ind., said Jonas Howell was hired as acommercial loan officer. Prior to joining Centra, he worked withFirst Financial Bank, Fifth Third Bank and AmeripriseFinancial.

The $496 million Financial Center Federal CreditUnion in Indianapolis promoted LeslieGary, Eric Vermilion and DeweyWilliams to regional managers to oversee sales andbusiness relationships and community relations. Gary was promotedfrom district retail sales manager in Financial Center’s downtownlocation. Vermilion was district retail sales manager in theGreenwood office. Williams was district retail sales manager at theCastleton location.

The $2.5 billion Michigan State University FederalCredit Union promoted Scott Ring tomanager of the Sparrow branch and Betty Jo Whippto assistant manager of the South Lansing branch. Ring was hired in2009 and had been assistant manager of the South Lansing branch.Whipp has been with MSUFCU since 2010 and was previously atraveling financial services representative.

The $118 million NW Preferred Federal CreditUnion in Tigard, Ore., promoted AlishaOliver to vice president of operations and manager of itsStayton branch. She has been with NW Preferred since 2005, mostrecently as assistant branch manager in Stayton.

The Mountain West Credit UnionAssociation named Patti Hazlett asdirector of corporate communications. Hazlett has more than 20years of communications experience, most recently as president ofPH Communications, her private consulting practice.

The $2.3 billion Redwood Credit Union in SantaRosa, Calif., hired Robin Ashford as manager ofits Point Arena branch. She has more than 20 years of customerservice experience, most recently as a branch service officer withWestamerica Bank.

The $1.3 billion Numerica Credit Union inSpokane, Wash., hired Nicole Butler as manager ofthe Five Mile branch. She has seven years of financial servicesexperience, most recently as branch manager in Poulsbo, Wash., forKitsap Credit Union.

CU Business Group in Portland, Ore., promotedMark Hayhurst to vice president and controller. Hejoined the CUSO in 2003 and since 2009 has been responsible for theorganization’s internal accounting.

TMG Financial Services in Des Moines, Iowa,added a new employee and promoted seven others. EricSchurr, formerly vice president of credit and risk, waspromoted to chief strategy officer. Aimee Dunn,formerly operations manager, was promoted to director ofoperations. Lance Kettering was promoted fromsenior financial analyst to financial planning and analysismanager. Corey Skadburg was promoted from creditand risk manager to credit and risk group manager. JessicaHill was promoted from collections analyst II tocollections analyst team lead.
