Dee Crisp will be the new president/CEO of the $125 million Government Employees Federal Credit Union in Austin, Texas, starting Jan. 6, GEFCU announced this week.

Crisp will be replacing President/CEO Richard T. Rhoades, who is retiring Dec. 31 after 31 years of service.

"Dee has a great deal of financial and business acumen knowledge and we are confident he will bring a bright and prosperous future to GEFCU as president/CEO," Jim Walker, GEFCU's board chair, said in a prepared statement. "The board is looking forward to seeing what the future holds for GEFCU under Dee's leadership."

Crisp has spent the past eight years with the $223 million, 27,268-member United San Antonio Federal Credit Union in San Antonio, serving as its vice president of finance.

"It is an honor to accept the role of president/CEO of GEFCU," Crisp said in the announcement. "The organization has such a rich history and opportunity for success.  I am eager to begin my service to the credit union and its community."

Chartered in 1931, GEFCU serves 10,687 members and operates seven branches.
