The $190 million Cy-Fair Federal Credit Unionlocated in Houston, Texas has hired Brett Woodenfor the newly created position of senior vice president ofmarketing and innovation. Prior to joining Cy-Fair, Wooden heldpositions at Unitus Community Credit Union in Portland, Ore., wherehe developed a reputation for using technology to attract newmembers. Wooden is an active member and leader with several creditunion industry groups, including the Filene Research Institute, andserves on the Advisory Board for Chatter Yak! Wooden holds a B.A.from Portland State University.

The $7 billion Security ­Service Federal CreditUnion in San ­Antonio announced that FredSalyers is its newest community and corporate developmentmanager. Prior to joining SSFCU, Salyers was a production managerfor iRex Group, Ltd., a supplier of contract manufacturing servicesof custom cables, system integration, and electronic sub-assembliesin Austin, Texas. In his seven-year career there, he also served asa safety officer and logistics manager.

The $1.1 billion Oregon Community Credit Union's in Eugene,Ore., has announced that Jeanine Wallace has officially joined theboard of directors. Wallace has more than 14 years ofexperience specializing in a full range of employee benefits,individual and family health insurance plans. She holds her Health,Life and Consulting license and is currently working on herRegistered Health Underwriter and Chartered Healthcare Consultantdesignations.

The $1.2 billion Vantage West Credit Union inTucson, Ariz., announced that its chairman of the board,Dale Whittaker, was presented the “Gene Ball Award” onSept. 27 at the National Association of Credit Union ChairmenConference in Savannah, Ga. Whittaker has been affiliatedwith the credit union movement for 56 years, and has beenassociated with NACUC since 1976.  He has attended 35 outof the past 37 annual NACUC meetings. Whittaker is a 39-yearveteran of military service.  He retired in 1991 as aCommand Chief Master Sergeant. Whittaker has served on theboard of directors for Vantage West for 43 years.

The $464 million Honor Credit Union in St.Joseph, Mich., recently named Kathy Becht as itsbusiness services manager. Becht will oversee the day to dayoperations of Honor's business services department. She has beenwith the credit union for almost 10 years and has worked innumerous departments.

The $59 million Meijer Credit Union in GrandRapids, Mich., announced the hiring of David Eykeas its lending manager. Eyke joins Meijer after a 22-year career incommercial lending and commercial credit analysis, as well as 13years experience in building and real estate development. In 1991,he was hired as senior counsel with Michigan National Bank (nowBank of America) where he managed commercial and consumer loanlegal matters and credit risk management. Beginning in 2000, heleft the full-time practice of law to open his own constructioncompany, but has remained up to date on financial institutionregulatory developments. ­Meijer's Rockford, Mich., branchannounced the hiring of Lisa­Posthumus as branch manager. Posthumus joinedMeijer after a 16-year career in the banking industry working inthe Grand Rapids area for two different local banks. Most recentlyshe was managing branches with total assets in excess of $55million.

The $2.5 billion MSU ­Federal Credit Union, inEast Lansing, Mich., announced the promotions of LeaAmmerman to senior vice president of branches andSamantha Amburgey to senior vice president ofremote services. Ammerman has worked for MSUFCU since August 2002,and previously held the position of vice president of branchesbefore being promoted to senior vice president of branches. Shebrings 25 years of financial services experience to her role andholds a B.A. in Business Administration from Northwood University,and an MBA from Michigan State University.

Amburgey has been with MSUFCU since July of 2004, and waspreviously the vice president of eCommerce and eServices. She holdsa B.A. in Sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Steuer startedout at CUIR in 2003 as a broker cold calling on credit unions.After three years, he was promoted to vice president of operations.At CUIR, Steuer is in charge of sales and implementation ofproducts and developing the company's marketing strategies.
