The $73 million Family First Credit Union in Saginaw, Mich., opened its third branch last week in Kochville Township to provide a convenient location for its growing membership.

Founded in 1939 as the former Saginaw Municipal Employees Credit Union to serve the financial needs of city employees and their families, the credit union decided to expand by securing a community charter in 2003 and changed its name to Family First CU.

Since then, the credit union has seen steady growth in members. At the end of 2003, the First Family was serving 4,412 members. As of March 31, the credit union has 7,402 members, according to Callahan & Associates.

“We are very excited about this new branch location in Kochville Township,” said H.Vance Vargo, First Family's president/CEO. “This third branch office provides our members and perspective members a very convenient location for those of them who live or work in Kochville and Saginaw Townships.”

The new branch grand opening event was held June 25.
