The $975 million Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union said thisweek it has promoted its chief financial officer, Todd Fortner, tothe newly created position of executive vice president.

Fortner joined the 101,900-member Chattanooga credit union in2005 as CFO after serving as a controller at an Alabama bank and asCFO for AOD Credit Union in Bynum, Ala.

A CUES CEO Institute graduate, Fortner also was an auditor forthe Chattanooga CPA firm of Hazlett, Lewis & Bieter aftergraduating from Tennessee Tech and has been a financial adviser,TVFCU said.

“I am really looking forward to working with Todd in hisexpanded role as our executive vice president as we build and growfor the future,” said the credit union's president/CEO W.Blake Strickland. “Todd will help us take advantage of the manyopportunities that lie ahead for TVFCU.”

Meanwhile, Brant Caldwell has moved from another Chattanoogafinancial institution to succeed Fortner as CFO, TVFCU said. Also aCPA, he is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanoogaand was a financial institution auditor for nearly 18 years, alsowith Hazlett, Lewis & Bieter, TVFCU said.
