The $975 million Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union said this week it has promoted its chief financial officer, Todd Fortner, to the newly created position of executive vice president.

Fortner joined the 101,900-member Chattanooga credit union in 2005 as CFO after serving as a controller at an Alabama bank and as CFO for AOD Credit Union in Bynum, Ala.

A CUES CEO Institute graduate, Fortner also was an auditor for the Chattanooga CPA firm of Hazlett, Lewis & Bieter after graduating from Tennessee Tech and has been a financial adviser, TVFCU said.

“I am really looking forward to working with Todd in his expanded role as our executive vice president as we build and grow for the future,” said the credit union's president/CEO W. Blake Strickland. “Todd will help us take advantage of the many opportunities that lie ahead for TVFCU.”

Meanwhile, Brant Caldwell has moved from another Chattanooga financial institution to succeed Fortner as CFO, TVFCU said. Also a CPA, he is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and was a financial institution auditor for nearly 18 years, also with Hazlett, Lewis & Bieter, TVFCU said.
