Securityplus Federal Credit Union, Baltimore, announced the hiring of John Godwin as the new chief operating officer. Godwin joined Securityplus FCU ­after a 12 year career at MECU of Baltimore, where he served as vice president – business development/strategic alliances. During his tenure, MECU increased its number of select employee groups by 1,100%, executed three successful mergers and completed a successful application to become a community development financial institution and a low-income designated credit union.  Godwin has been named business development professional of the year by the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council and has been recognized as one of CUES Rising 100 up-and-coming credit union executives.

Suffolk Federal Credit Union, Medford, N.Y.  welcomed Gail DiGiacomo as assistant branch manager. She is responsible for supporting the branch manager in operations, staff supervision and member relations. She is instrumental in providing Suffolk Federal CU financial solutions, services and products to members such as account management, consumer loans and online banking assistance. DiGiacomo brings 28 years of banking and customer service experience to Suffolk Federal CU. She has held previous positions, including head teller and operations manager at Citibank and EAB.

A+ Federal Credit Union, Austin, Texas, announced the promotion of Rob Tomasino as its vice president of operations. Tomasino has been with A+FCU for two years as assistant vice-president-member experience. In his new role his additional ­responsibilities include overseeing branch operations, contact center, compliance, A+ Financial Center and training. Tomasino, who holds a bachelor’s degree in finance fromGeorgeMasonUniversity, has worked with and for credit unions for over 35 years throughoutNorth America.

Columbia Credit Union, Vancouver, Wash., announced that Vice President of Marketing Nancy Olmsted has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president card services. Olmsted will lead the credit union’s credit card, debit card and ATM products and services to achieve growth, sales, service, and operational goals. She will also direct the department’s strategic planning, project management and staff training and development.  The credit union also announced that Brad Hunter has joinedColumbia as vice president of marketing to lead promotions supporting member needs for education, loans, deposits, wealth management and ecommerce. He will also execute marketing plans while overseeing all print and electronic communications, sales support, merchandising, public relations, internal/external communications, and assist in advancing the strategic direction of the credit union.  Olmsted holds more than 25 years of credit union marketing experience, serving the last seven years as vice president of marketing atColumbia. Hunter for 13 years served as vice president marketing at Spokane Teachers Credit Union at a time when the credit union grew nearly six times its size to $1.7 billion in assets. In addition to branding, research, advertising, public and community relations and more, Hunter provided leadership at the senior management level to assist with strategic planning, member delight, employee engagement and market share growth.

Ent Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs, Colo., announced the hiring of Matt Davidson as a senior lending specialist. AColorado native, Davidson previously worked for Ent in both member service and consumer lending roles, including serving as the supervisor of Ent’s consumer lending call center. He has been in the financial services industry for more than 10 years. Davidson will work out of the credit union’sBonServiceCenter location and is well versed in all consumer loans including home equity, auto, personal and more.

OSU Federal Credit Union, Corvallis, Ore., said that Susan Wack has joined the credit union as a mortgage loan officer serving the Polk andMarionCounty area. Wack brings 34 years of financial institution experience to OSU Federal, most of that time in the mortgage loan industry. She comes to the credit union from a similar position at Willamette Valley Bank inSalem and is a 1977 graduate ofSalem’sCorbanUniversity. Wack returned toOregon last November after holding other positions in the industry inWisconsin,Iowa,Colorado andCalifornia including 11 years at Pacific IBM Employees Credit Union (now Meriwest Credit Union) inSan Jose,Calif. Before returning to the area, Wack volunteered forWisconsin’s local chapter of Habitat for Humanity as vice president and family selection chairperson. 

Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced that Donna McKernan, Gina Drake and Walter MaCal have all been promoted to assistant vice presidents within the credit union’s member call center.  McKernan, who has been with the credit union since 1992, started her career as a member information specialist. In her new position, she will be responsible for electronic banking, training, workforce management and remote deposit account openings. She attended the University of Incarnate Word and has served as a mentor for students at Business Careers High School. Drake joined SSFCU in 2005 as a manager. She holds a bachelor of business administration with an ­emphasis in management from Texas State University and is a member of the Professional Teleservice Management Association. She will be responsible for managing daily operations, analyzing call center performance and managing call center support for credit union members across multiple locations. MaCal worked at SSFCU for seven years before rejoining the team in 2003. A member of the PTMA, he will be responsible for managing daily operations and overseeing the consistent support of credit union members, acting on behalf of multiple regional call centers and remote agents.  He is currently pursuing a bachelor of arts at the University of Incarnate Word. Security Service FCU separately announced the selection of Lucia Williamson as branch manager of its 410/Rigsby location.  In her new position, she will be responsible for the overall operation of the service center, including cash operations, member service and facility maintenance. Williamson has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.  She joined SSFCU in 1992 as a senior member service officer and has since held positions of increased responsibility, most recently serving as manager of the member service integration team. 

Texell Credit Union, Temple, Texas, announced the hiring of George Ferretti as chief financial officer. In his new role, Ferretti will serve on Texell’s senior management team, developing strategic plans and evaluating business opportunities for the credit union.  He will also be responsible for Texell’s accounting, human resources and information technology efforts. Ferretti’s experience includes working for Ernst & Young and Citigroup.  Most recently, he served as vice president of finance for Tropical Financial Credit Union. Ferretti is a certified public accountant, holds a bachelor of science in accounting from theUniversity ofMissouri and an MBA fromSt. LouisUniversity.

Heritage Federal Credit Union, Newburgh, Ind., announced that Anastasia Sorensen has joined the credit union as a business development specialist. Sorensen has 10 years in the sales and marketing industry. Her prior experience includes employment with Evansville Courier & Press and South Central Media.

MSU Federal Credit Union, East Lansing, Mich., has announced the promotion of two MSUFCU management development employees: Brandon Bussa as assistant manager at the Marsh branch in Haslett and Michael Gross as assistant manager at theSouth Lansing branch. Bussa has worked at MSUFCU since September 2010 and was previously a loan services specialist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration fromEasternMichiganUniversity and an MBA from the University of Michigan-Flint.  Gross has been with MSUFCU since January of 2011, most recently holding the position of call center specialist II. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a concentration in professional sales fromCentralMichiganUniversity.
