The $1.7 billion University of Wisconsin Credit Union said it will soon offer mobile check deposit to its 177,400 members.

The remote deposit checking solution was developed in-house using Ensenta image processing and fraud detection tools and will be paired with the Madison credit union's homegrown mobile banking offerings, UWCU said.

The launch is expected later this spring, the credit union said. “It lets members take control of when and where they want to do their banking. It also gives additional accessibility to our membership that lives outside of Wisconsin,” said UWCU President/CEO Paul Kundert.

UWCU said it now employs 432 people at 21 locations in the Madison, Milwaukee, Stevens Point, Green Bay, Oshkosh and Whitewater.
