To help assist small and minority-owned businesses, Workers' Credit Union said it has made a $20,000 contribution to the North Central Massachusetts Development Corp.
The development corporation works with local financial institutions to assist businesses throughout the region, said the $913 million Workers' CU in Fitchburg, Mass.
David McKeehan, president of North Central Massachusetts Development Corp., said the credit union's donation will be instrumental towards its goal of increasing economic opportunities for residents and businesses.
Contributing to the effort was in keeping with the credit union's goal of doing what's right for the community, said Doug Petersen, president/CEO of Workers' CU.
“The more we can foster economic opportunities, the more it will help create a stronger and healthier community,” Petersen said.
