The $716 million, 56,800-member United Heritage Credit Unionthrew a party for the one-year anniversary of the opening of itsRiver Place branch in its hometown of Austin, Texas. Activities atthe recent celebration included food and beverages, games and avote to help a local school win $500.

Free safe deposit boxes were offered and a drawing was held fortwo mini iPads. The event, held on Dec. 5 and again on Dec. 8, alsoincluded a visit from Bevo, the University of Texas longhornmascot, a balloon artist and face painters.

The credit union said new membership and account openings thatday were triple the normal pace. “We're excited about the newmembers we've gained and the additional accounts opened by existingmembers. The anniversary events and promotions have helped UnitedHeritage gain more traction in the River Place area,” says branchmanager Trey Bertelson.
