The $2.9 billion San Antonio Federal Credit Union has completed a promotion that raised 800 volunteer hours to benefit two community nonprofit agencies and increased awareness of its timesaving mobile banking app launched over the summer.

In the “Get Go. Give Back campaign,” employees of the Texas credit union agreed to volunteer their time to nonprofit groups after members downloaded the credit union's Get Go mobile banking app to vote for one of the nominated agencies.

Animal Care Services, which supports animal adoption and responsible ownership, and The Fund, San Antonio's United Arts Fund, received the highest number of votes from members who downloaded the credit union's mobile app and voted.

“GO saves us time, so SACU's employees donated the time they saved and put it in a bank of volunteer hours to be donated to projects which do good in our community,” said Kristina Hernandez, SACU community relations specialist.

“We're thrilled that the community got behind our campaign. All of the organizations nominated were very deserving and are out there doing good every day,” Hernandez said.
