BOCA RATON, Fla. — CO-OP Financial Services and ATM manufacturer Diebold have announced a shared effort to bring video communication to ATM transactions.

CO-OP owns the nationwide CO-OP Network of fee-free ATMs. Once deployed, the new feature will allow members to connect to a call center customer service representative for real-time, “face-to face” interaction via two-way video, CO-OP said.

“This initiative is an extension of the partnership formed between CO-OP Financial Services and Diebold to deliver enhanced self-service capabilities for the member and complete ATM management services for the credit union,” said CO-OP President/CEO Stan Hollen.

The payments CUSO said the new capability is designed to provide financial institutions the opportunity to expand the member relationship. The service will also facilitate additional call center services such as transfers and account opening.

The CUSO announced the effort at its THINK 12 Conference that has drawn a record 542 executives from 150 credit unions to Boca Raton this week.
