The $3.9 billion Police & Fire Federal Credit Union inPhiladelphia is now offering its 198,000 members a mobile bankingapp for their iPhones and Android devices.

The CU Mobile App is from Member Service Solutions LLC ofFranklin, Tenn., which now has 20 clients using the app and severalmore in development, according to MSS partner Tom Gray.

Steve Haggerty, Philadelphia Police & Fire's assistantwebsite administrator, said it recorded a 15% adoption rate withinfour days after notifying members with mobile phones of the app'savailability.

“We're building into the app access to the mobile optimizedversion of our home banking – which was previously only accessiblein a desktop version, which was less convenient. Once that isrolled out, I imagine that usage of the app will increasedramatically,” Haggerty said.

CU Mobile Apps requires no contract and can easily integratenew technologies as they become available, said Rick Hargis, MSSowner/partner.

“The product allows even inexperienced subscribers to easilyupload images, choose colors, customize items displayed, and add orchange content at any time—with the results accessible to theirmembers and customers within 60 seconds,” he said.
