Remote deposit capture – technology that allows the member toscan or take a smartphone picture of a check and submit itelectronically for deposit – can be a vital tool for attracting andretaining business from small businesses, according to AiteGroup.

The think firm recently issued a report based on surveys ofbanks, credit unions and primarily on a study of 291 smallbusinesses. It found that RDC offerings were relatively scarcecompared with the business interest in using the new tools.
