An NCUA employee used government email to send pornographic pictures of himself to an online undercover agent posing as a 13-year girl, according to the agency's Office of Inspector General.
The employee used his work email account to “send and receive, respectively, over 700 pornographic photographs of himself and adult females,'' according to an OIG report.
The agency's investigation, which began after it was contacted by the FBI, confirmed that the employee had: Misused his government computer; misused official time; violated a basic obligation of public service; and violated the agency's policy on computer security and use.
The NCUA, which did not identify the employee or provide additional details about the incident, has “proposed removing the employee from federal service,'' according to the Office of Inspector General's semi-annual report to Congress.
The FBI is still conducting an investigation, the agency said.
