More than 150 members shared their experiences with Resource One Credit Union to mark the Dallas's cooperative's 75th birthday.
The $328 million credit union wrapped up its birthday month in July with several celebrations including a "75 is the new 25" vehicle loan promotion that offered .25% off all vehicle loans. All loans were also entered into a contest for a $7,500 cash award.
Through the vehicle loan promotion, the 40,000-member CU said it experienced an 18% increase in loan volume and booked $9.38 million in gross loans. Four of Resource CU's nine branches broke their loan records both in volume and in dollars booked, according to Mike Roark, chief lending officer.

As part of the birthday festivities, Resource One CU employees videotaped members, which resulted in more than 150 testimonials that can be viewed on Resource One's YouTube channel.
The city of Houston also recognized the CU's legacy by declaring Resource One's July 15th birthday as "Resource One Day."
Resource One was founded in 1936 as Sears Dallas Employees Federal Credit Union to serve employees of a catalog order plant. Membership now is open to people who live in Dallas or northwest Harris (Houston) counties and a number of SEGs.
