The $939 million FORUM Credit Union in Fishers, Ind., is now offering its members the ability to snap pictures of checks and deposit them via smartphone.
The 12-branch, 105,000-member Indianapolis-area CU is offering the mobile remote deposit capture service from Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union of Burlington, Mass.
“Expanding our remote deposit capture service beyond members' home computers to their mobile devices is another way FORUM is able to provide members with convenient access to their accounts. Since launching, the adoption of the mobile version of this service has been strong, with positive feedback about its ease of use,” said Kristi Lowell, vice president of retail delivery at FORUM.
Apps for the DeposZip service are available in the Apple Store or Android Market, the credit union said, and it provides the software to allow members to log in to their CU Online account and make the deposit.
EasCorp offers DeposZip through its Vertifi Software LLC subsidiary and recently said it has now processed more than $1 billion in RDC deposits since the service was originally launched for desktop PCs in 2009. Mobile was added in January 2010.
