The $783 million TruWest Credit Union in Tempe, Ariz., is nowusing a new solution to allow its mobile administrators to securelyview email attachments.

The AttachView solution from Toronto, Ont.-based Messageware cansecure hundreds of types of file attachments for the 58,000-membercredit union's mobile administrators to open while working off siteusing Microsoft Office's Outlook Web Access software.

The AttachView solution creates an HTML equivalent of theattachment, allowing it to be viewed securely. The files can onlybe edited back at the office. Such measures are needed to minimizerisk and comply with growing regulatory mandates, the company andcredit union said.

“We conduct annual mobile security training for our smartphone,laptop and OWA users. People realize that we have obligationsto our members and to regulators, so they understand the securityrestrictions,” said Tom Gessel, TruWest senior vice president and chief technology officer.
