The former chairman of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, Ronald Lasich, 66, of Bridgeville, died over the weekend.

Lasich, president/CEO of the $30 million Visionary FCU, had served as the elected PCUA head from 2002-2004 and was also chairman of the foundation from 2004-2006.

Lasich, who died Saturday, was a member of  PCUA's Credit Union House Hall of Leaders and was instrumental in the recent overhaul of the PCUA Board and change in governance process.

He also developed a special PCUA area at Credit Union House in Washington.

"Ron was a very caring person who went out of his way to help people in the true credit union 'People Helping People' spirit," said James McCormack, president/CEO of PCUA.

Funeral services are slated Tuesday at Nativity Church in Pittsburgh. The family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society.
