The Members Group, a card processing CUSO affiliated with theIowa Credit Union League, has announced a new interface and toolthat should enable its member CUs to more easily use Visa'stransaction alerts.
|Transaction alerts send participating cardholders messages whenthey use their Visa cards. The service both enables consumers tobetter track spending and alerts the cardholder to unauthorizedtransactions, according to Visa.
|“With text alerts, cardholders become active participants infraud prevention,” said Brian Day, TMG product developmentarchitect. “The alerts give them a much earlier view of attemptedfraudulent transactions as compared to waiting for a statement–oreven checking their account online.”
|The new service will enable cardholders from participating TMGmember CUs to sign up for transaction alerts through TMG'sMyCardInfo.com website or a through a financial institution's ownonline banking system, the CUSO said.
