The Members Group, a card processing CUSO affiliated with theIowa Credit Union League, has announced a new interface and toolthat should enable its member CUs to more easily use Visa'stransaction alerts.

Transaction alerts send participating cardholders messages whenthey use their Visa cards. The service both enables consumers tobetter track spending and alerts the cardholder to unauthorizedtransactions, according to Visa.

“With text alerts, cardholders become active participants infraud prevention,” said Brian Day, TMG product developmentarchitect. “The alerts give them a much earlier view of attemptedfraudulent transactions as compared to waiting for a statement–oreven checking their account online.”
