Wanting to help its members between the ages of 17 and 25 become more financially savvy, Pentagon Federal Credit Union and the PenFed Foundation have teamed up with MoneyU.
MoneyU is a self-paced financial education game that covers essential financial skills, such as understanding a cardholder agreement, comparing car loans and creating a budget, in a fun and interactive way. With widgets and simulations, users develop skills in just six to eight hours that would take 30 hours to learn in a traditional classroom.
According to Christopher Flynn, president/CEO of the PenFed Foundation, the free new program simply helps reinforce the Rockville, Md.-based credit union's message that financial literacy is a priority for long-term prosperity.
