Raleigh, N.C.-based State Employees' Credit Union is ready to roll out its improved Estate Planning Essentials Program to members statewide.

Piloted last year to employees and recently to SECU volunteers, the program was developed to fill members’ needs for basic estate planning.

Through the Estate Planning Essentials Program, a member's estate planning package can include a will with possible trust provisions, a Durable Power of Attorney, a Healthcare Power of Attorney and Living Will, and an HIPAA Authorization. Packages are prepared by experienced estate planning attorneys who have agreed to complete the documents at a set member price. Basic program costs are $250 for an individual and $350 for a couple. The latest version of the program now also includes a new loan product for those members who don’t have a will and are concerned with the expense of having one prepared. Currently at a 10.75% rate, the loan allows members up to 12 months to pay for the program.
