More California credit unions were making arrangements Wednesday to help their members donate funds to victims of the Japanese earthquake disaster through special Red Cross accounts and online vehicles.

Redwood CU in Santa Rosa said the CU "is now accepting contributions to the Red Cross Japanese Disaster Relief Fund to directly assist the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan." All RCU branch locations have been designated as collection sites for donations from members and the general public.

Contributions to the fund were being made at branches via cash deposit, funds transfer or check payable to the American Red Cross with "100% of the contributions going directly to the Red Cross Japanese Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund."
