President of the St. James-based Montego Co-operative Credit Union and founder of the Good News Church of God, Bishop Herman Johnson has died at the age of 69.

Johnson, who had served as president of the Jamaican credit union for two years, was trimming branches from an ackee tree when he lost his balance and fell.

Along with his wife Lelieth, Johnson also founded the Greenwood Preparatory School and the Good News Church of God with its headquarters in Adelphi, St James.
