DuTrac Community?Credit Union of Dubuque, Iowa, has launched a new, interactive website for its Savasaurus Kids Club program. The club, which serves about 3,600 members age 12 and under, is designed to build relationships with younger members and their parents to promote loyalty and retention.
The club's site includes recipes for healthy meals kids can help make, information about exercises that are good for young bodies, instructions for science projects and crafts and useful guides for homework help. It also features JavaScript versions of games like tic-tac-toe and four in a row and contains a list of the incentives kids can earn with the "Savasaurus Club Points" they get for making deposits and withdrawals.
In addition to teaching children the value of saving, the club encourages young members to live by the "people helping people" philosophy through community events and collection drives. For example, the club's recent blanket drive brought in 40 new or gently used blankets for the Dubuque Rescue Mission for the homeless.
