GFA Federal Credit Union, Gardner, Mass., recently recognized its CEO Tina M. Sbrega for her 30 years of service to the credit union. Sbrega has held various management positions at the credit union and was named president/CEO in 2009. Over her 30 years of service, Sbrega has been an integral part of GFA's growth, and has seen such notable events as the launch of GFA Financial Group, the introduction of electronic banking, the credit union's being named America's number one community credit union in 2007 and, most recently, the launch a full service insurance agency, GFA Insurance Services LLC.

Hudson River Community Credit Union, Troy, N.Y., announced the appointment of Eric Razzano as a member service representative at its new Troy, N. Y. branch. Razzano will be responsible for assisting members with their financial transactions, involving payment and receiving cash as well as other negotiable instruments. In addition, he is responsible for providing members with product information on regular savings and checking accounts, money market accounts and certificate accounts.

Maine Credit Union League, Portland, Maine, announced that Jon Paradise, governmental and public affairs manager at the credit union, received the Maine Public Relations Council's 2010 Edward L. Bernays Award. This award was created in 1987 to honor outstanding contributions to the public relations profession and is named for Edward L. Bernays, widely regarded as the father of modern public relations. Paradise was recognized for his work with the Maine Credit Union League and member credit unions and for his community service activities, including his efforts in support of the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger, Maine Children's Cancer Program and financial literacy.

West

Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Manhattan Beach, Calif., announced that Rick Carlson joined the credit union as director of mortgage loan operations, correspondent lending, and that Mike Anderson joined as director of mortgage loan operations in Chicago. Carlson will manage and organize operations related to the setup, compliance, underwriting and purchase of correspondent loans submitted to Kinecta from its approved mortgage correspondents. Prior to joining Kinecta, Carlson served as vice president of operations for American Home Equity Corporation. Anderson will be responsible for managing the underwriting of wholesale and correspondent loan transactions. He most recently served as managing vice president of operations at M&I Bank.

Mountain America Credit Union, Salt Lake City, appointed Lori Shaw as branch manager of its Kearns branch. Shaw has been with Mountain America for 17 years, starting as a teller and working her way up to branch manager. Prior to her promotion, she was the assistant manager at the West Jordan branch after spending 11 years working as a teller and loan officer at the Kearns branch.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, Centennial, Colo., announced that Elliott Roberts has been selected to serve as a commercial loan officer for its Colorado market. Prior to joining Security Service, Roberts was employed with Champion Bank as a chief credit officer. In his new position with the credit union, he will be responsible for overseeing commercial lending services in Colorado. Roberts is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Md., with a bachelor of science degree in economics.

Midwest

Summit Credit Union, Madison, Wis., announced that Barb Attewell, card services specialist at its Sun Prairie branch, celebrated a landmark 30 years with the credit union. Barb joined Summit (formerly known as CUNA Credit Union) in 1980 as a teller. Since then, she has worked in many areas of the company, including member services, data processing, accounting and operations support.

South

Credit Union of Georgia, Woodstock, Ga., has promoted associate Brian Albrecht to the newly created position of director of lending. In his new role, Albrecht will be directing and monitoring the lending operations for the credit union. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management and a finance degree from Valdosta State University and has worked in member services and branch management at the credit union. In addition, Mr. Albrecht has extensive previous experience in the banking industry.

Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, announced the promotion of Aaron Leek to vice president of online services. Leek previously served as the assistant vice president of member service and operational training. In his new position, he will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the credit union's online channel for product delivery, member experience and member acquisition. Leek was responsible for overseeing the credit union's recent Web redesign project that launched last month.

South Carolina Federal Credit Union, North Charleston, S.C., hired Jessica Jackson as vice president of corporate communications. Jackson previously worked for six years at the Maryland Hospital Association as Director of Communications. Jackson's duties include developing internal and external communications; managing public relations for the organization including media relations; coordinating corporate events; and supervising Young & Free South Carolina, a program powered by the credit union especially for people under the age of 25.

Vendors

DRI Management Systems, Atlanta, Ga., a vendor of default management technology, announced that its founder and CEO Duke Olrich was just named the winner of the "Lasting Impact" award from Mortgage Technology magazine in a ceremony held during the Mortgage Bankers Association's annual convention in Atlanta. The award recognizes individuals or developments that have had a significant and lasting impact on mortgage lending technology. Olrich pioneered technology that helps mortgage lenders and servicers deal with defaulting loans.

Informa Research Services, Inc., Calabasas, Calif., a provider of competitive intelligence, market research, mystery shopping and compliance testing services to the financial industry, announced that Monica Najera has joined the company as director of compliance and risk management. Najera is a seasoned compliance executive and served most recently at Bank of America.
