Alliant Credit Union, Chicago, announced that its charitable organization, Alliant Credit Union Foundation, has recently completed its first year of operations, during which it has donated $200,000 to worthy causes in line with its mission. Some charities that it has donated to are the Breast Cancer Network of Strength, Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, March of Dimes, Boys and Girls Club, Orphan Foundation of America, Special Olympics and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

America First Credit Union, Riverdale, Utah, began its six-week long food drive recently. The drive is expected to generate thousands of pounds of food for the Utah Food Bank, in preparation for the holiday season. Last year, AFCU donated 14,850 pounds of food to the food bank, and this year the credit union anticipates an equally helpful contribution.

Belvoir Federal Credit Union, Woodbridge, Va., donated $5,000 toward the National Museum of the United States Army, a permanent home for the history and heritage of American soldiers. The building will offer both traditional and interactive exhibits about the nation's oldest and largest military service. It is scheduled to open in 2015 and will be considered the U.S. Army's national landmark.
