More than 9,000 credit union members got e-statements and one won a Wii in a contest sponsored by a Michigan-based CUSO.
CU*Answers in Grand Rapids said a total of 9,079 e-statement enrollments were recorded at 60 client credit unions during the August-September contest, a 48% increase from the previous two months.
Marissa Pittsley, a member of $74 million Isabella Community Credit Union in Mount Pleasant, Mich., won the contest's grand prize, a Nintendo Wii game system, and her credit union said its online enrollment pace nearly doubled during the two months of the contest.

The collaborative campaign included mailing nearly 400,000 statement inserts at a cost of less than 2 cents each, CU*Answers said, and Isabella Community CU said its total expense was $114.25, or about 44 cents per each new e-statement enrollee.
CU*Answers said it now offers core processing, online and mobile banking, collaborative marketing and other services to about 165 credit unions.
