BayPort Credit Union, Newport News, Va., is providing local teachers with 25 grant opportunities up to $300 each to fund innovative financial literacy programs in the classroom. It is the first year BayPort is offering the grants. BayPort teacher grants support elementary, middle and high schools, and public, private and home schools.

Corporate America Family Credit Union, Elgin, Ill., recently held its seventh annual "Project Backpack" school supply drive to benefit local students in need. This year's drive was a great success, yielding dozens of items, including pencils, binders, markers, backpacks, folders, glue sticks, crayons, notebooks and monetary donations that were recently passed along to the kids at Channing Elementary in Elgin.

Credit Union of Ohio, Columbus, Ohio, made a $50,000 donation this year to the Ohio Statehouse Museum. The donation will be used to continue the third phase of construction at the Museum-an inspirational exhibit entitled "The Heart of Democracy"-and also help with the transportation costs of getting kids to the museum.
