Andrews Federal Credit Union, Suitland, Md.,participated in Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) job fair at the PrinceGeorge's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md. Over 2,600people attended the event and Andrews Federal's human resourcedepartment representatives were present to speak to job seekers.Participants were given information on credit reports and scores inaddition to being offered the opportunity to become credit unionmembers. Andrews Federal also took part in a community daysponsored by the Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma ThetaSorority. Approximately 250 people attended the event, which washeld at THEARC in Washington and offered free school supplies,community resources, food, music and kid's activities. AndrewsFederal provided free financial literacy information and opened newmembership accounts.

Black Hills Federal Credit Union, Rapid City,S.D., held its 14th annual school supply drive in August, gatheringover 75,000 items for more than 50 area schools. Donations ofsupplies and monetary gifts from local businesses and individualsare divided by need for every school and given to administrators todistribute to students. Black Hills Federal Credit Union helpedorganize the drive in Rapid City 14 years ago in partnership withtwo area teachers. Over the years, the drive has grown to serve 12Black Hills communities.

Detroit Metropolitan Credit Union, Detroit,Mich., held a Community Summer Open House in July. There wereseveral vendors, refreshments, games, prizes and a clown.Approximately 1,000 people attended the event.
