The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues announced today they will provide staff support for a newly created Corporate Realignment Task Force.
The volunteer group of credit union leaders from the West will devise a cost-effective, cooperative structure to provide western credit unions with essential services that have historically been provided by corporate credit unions.
Initial members of the task force are Jeff York, chairman, CEO of CoastHills FCU, Ariel Chun, retired CEO of University of Hawaii FCU, Rudy Hanley, CEO of SchoolsFirst FCU, Brett Martinez, CEO of Redwood CU, Frank Michael, CEO of Allied CU, Gary Oakland, CEO of Boeing Employees CU, and Wayne Tew, CEO of Clark County CU.

"The good news is that there is no need to rush to judgment–changes in the corporate system will occur over the next couple of years, so there is time to plan this out and transition to a new system in a timely and logical way," York said. "We intend to keep credit unions involved and informed, and expect to have a detailed plan outlined by year-end."
Richard M. Johnson, retired CEO of Western Corporate FCU, will serve as a consultant to the group. The task force also intends to make use of professional staff currently at WesCorp as organizational efforts proceed.
