A few Golden 1 Credit Union executives have found a way to blow off steam and help the community by jamming together as The Bruised Brothers.
The four musicians are all former members of amateur rock 'n' roll bands, according to Scott Ingram, senior vice president of marketing at the CU. His band mates are Lennie Gzesh, senior vice president of financial services; Ric Dannelley, manager of corporate planning/research and Robert Day, former senior IT auditor.
"We all work here at Golden 1 and just decided to form our own band for fun," Ingram said.

The group's first gig was at the Sacramento, Calif.-based credit union's managers meeting where Ingram penned original lyrics to a standard blues tune. Gzesh thought it'd be fun to dress like the Blues Brothers, complete with hats, sunglasses and black suits. From there, the four execs became the Bruised Brothers. The group, which covers classic rock from the '60s to the '80s, practices together at least once or twice a month prior to a gig.
"We really do it just for the fun of it and are successful at maintaining our amateur status," Ingram said. "Most of our gigs have been performing at charity events."
He said word of mouth about the band has helped the Bruised Brothers perform at several local chapter meetings of the California Credit Union League and for some 300 people at the Sacramento Habitat for Humanity volunteer awards dinner. The band is scheduled to play in September at a benefit concert for the Children's Miracle Network.
"For the CMN fundraiser we're one of three bands featured and it should be a lot of fun," Ingram said. "Our biggest challenge is keeping an eye on the volume, but this will be an outdoor event so we'll be able to bust loose."
