The more than 3,000 credit unions using Card Services for Credit Unions can now plan to offer their members mobile service as part of their credit and debit card functionality, the credit union-owned company said.
CSCU said it has partnered with MShift Inc. to offer that company's carrier-agnostic mobile banking solution and can offer the service “at significant savings” because of its pooled volumes.
“We were very thorough in our due diligence, considering multiple vendors,” said Robert Hackney, president of CSCU in Clearwater, Fla. “In the end, we chose MShift because of their strong reputation in the credit union space and their ability to implement mobile across a broad range of core platforms quickly and at a reasonable cost.”
MShift said it currently provides mobile banking solutions to more than 30 of the nation's largest credit unions and that the functionality is expanding.
“The demands of the mobile banking consumer have rapidly matured from mobile delivery of core banking services, like account balances and transfers, to the mobile access of other important financial services – such as credit/debit card services, P2P payments, check deposit, bill pay, and more,” said Scott Moeller, CEO of MShift in Fremont, Calif.
