Synergent has released an ID scanning tool that will allow credit unions to protect against fraud while being efficient.

The eID scanning technology allows credit union employees to scan an ID only once to enter it into the archives so the member does not need to show it again for future transactions.

Synergent also developed an HTML ID retrieval screen, which allows credit union employees to quickly verify a member's identity while having the required information in front of them to answer questions. The retrieval screen was built by using feedback and suggestions from credit unions.

“Whether it be during the account opening process, the loan application process, or when conducting daily transactions, the eID scanning functionality means credit union staff only have to ask for the member's identification one time to scan into the archives,” Nick Chasse, sales support coordinator for Synergent Technology Services, explained. “Once scanned, the HTML ID retrieval screen uses the integration capabilities of Episys to seamlessly pull the scanned identification from CU archives and display to the credit union staff member servicing the member.”

The eID product was recently showcased at the Maine Credit Union League's annual meeting. Synergent is a subsidiary of the Maine Credit Union League.
