The report has come out from a nationwide simulated cyber attack on the nation's ACH, check and card payment systems earlier this year.

More than 700 financial institutions participated in the three-day Cyber Attack Against Payment Processes exercise in February organized by the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center in Sterling, Va. The exercise involved internal testing at the financial institutions themselves, as well as at retailers, card processors and other businesses, and then collecting survey responses, the organization said.

An executive report has been released citing lessons learned, areas for improvement and recommended best practices. The report the exercise results is available at www.fsiac.com.
