State Employees’ Credit Union, Raleigh, N.C., announced a $4 million grant to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences via the SECU Foundation, funding the museum’s centerpiece of the planned Nature Research Center. The centerpiece, SECU Daily Planet, will be a three-story multimedia program area that will employ audio and visual technologies to provide a backdrop for live presentations on key environmental issues and recent scientific discoveries. The SECU Daily Planet will also draw on live feeds of the latest science news and provide daily outreach to audiences statewide.

KSC Federal Credit Union, Merritt Island, Fla., announced that it set up a special fund that members of the community can contribute to. Monetary donations are being accepted at all credit unions branches throughout Brevard and Volusia. All funds raised will be directed to the American Red Cross to assist the citizens of Haiti.
