A pair of billion-dollar credit unions have committed to beingamong the first users of the mobile remote-deposit capture servicefrom Eastern Corporate Federal Credit Union and its VertifiSoftware LLC subsidiary.

They are the $3.7 billion Randolph-Brooks FCU of Live Oak,Texas, and the $4 billion Digital FCU of Marlborough, Mass. Thefirst client of the Mobile DeposZip service is the $91 millionTorrance Community FCU of Torrance, Calif.

The custom-branded mobile solution works on iPhone and GoogleAndroid platforms.

EasCorp said that in addition to the three mobile users, it nowhas 35 active credit union users of its desktop DeposZip RDCservice for homes and businesses and another 17 in various stagesof deployment.

Randolph-Brooks and Digital together already have more than55,000 members using the Vertifi-hosted desktop RDC service,according to 275-member EasCorp in Burlington, Mass.

“By offering DeposZip Mobile, we expand the appeal of RBFCUservices to our technology-driven members and potential members,and we also increase the overall convenience and versatility of ourproducts and services. We plan to aggressively market this productthroughout our San Antonio and Austin market areas,” said MaryO'Rourke, assistant vice president of member service operations atRandolph-Brooks FCU.

Craig Roy, senior vice president for support services at355,000-member Digital FCU, said, “RDC has been an importantstrategic initiative for DCU for more than two years, and we havehad impressive results both in terms of member participation andcost savings. The mobile channel is a logical extension of thisstrategy, and we expect that it will add substantial value to ourservice.”
